The graphic elements of this kind of hologram are positioned on two or three different levels; the background appears to be “underneath” or “behind” the main image, thus giving the illusion of depth.

These images may be seen from a range of different light sources. Sharpness of borders and brilliant colors are characteristic of this kind of hologram.
